Bahía Magdalena is a protected bay on the Pacific coast in Baja Sur. It is one of the longest bays, it is considered the second largest in the Pacific. A chain of islands that serve as a barrier protect the bay from the vast Pacific Ocean, creating an ideal environment for a large population of marine life, including the most popular species of sport fishing.
In the bay, between 85 and 95 miles of mangrove-filled canals provide a seemingly endless source of light tackle fishing especially for groupers, snapper and snook. On the other side of the islands, some of the most productive banks provide world-class fishing of pelagic species in large quantities, where each year in November, a natural phenomenon known as “the Marlin run” gathers in large numbers. quantities. It is a type of fishing like you have never seen before.
Experiences we have had with our family business from the 60s to date and we want to share with you our unique and incomparable experiences, we are a founding family and native of Baja Sur, where our first ways of living was commercial fishing and later we combined it with Sport Fishing.

From October to December of each year, gigantic bait balls congregate miles off the coast of the bay, creating one of the most amazing shows the Pacific Ocean has to offer.
As mentioned, the main predators of the sardine include the Striped Marlin, sea lions and occasionally whales, which work as a team to corner and push the bait balls to the surface from the depth of the sea, a situation that takes advantage of the earwigs, pelicans and seagulls that attack from outside by launching themselves like rockets on sardines as part of the food chain.
At this moment the sardines move from one place to another trying to survive and it is the moment when they start trolling in our boats with quality equipment, for this reason we must be very attentive and prepared to live the moment they are hooked in the trolls and a power struggle begins between the Fish and the lovers of sport fishing, these are the last minutes or hours of life of the fight of the King of the Pacific "El Marlin", the dorado or another fish that will touch you witness live.

Sean S2024-04-12Quite possibly one of the most surreal and life changing experiences ive ever had. I visited Magdalena bay to experience the sardine run which is also when the striped marlin congregate in this area. What I saw out there was literally thousands of majestic marlin feeding, frolicking, mingling with other species inc dorado, and big whales. but that wasn't the only thing special about this place... the people, the food, the magical accommodations. It was comfortable, the food was incredible, fresh, mexican cuisine inc fresh made guacamole, carne asada, and a delicious filling breakfast to start each day. the people who work here, from the kitchen to the captains, and everyone in between... they are kind, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. We never felt uncomfortable, or out of place. All I can say is this is an experience everyone should have at least once, it will change your perspective on nature, the ocean, and the wild world we live in. I hope to go back every year if I can, there's really nothing like it on earth.
It's A Necessity2024-04-09We brought our family of 4 on a sport fishing trip and it was so fun. The marlin were everywhere! We got a few on the line and reeled one all the way in, which was a bucketlist experience for us. Our captain was super knowledgeable, and it was nice to have the packed lunches, snacks, and drinks on board. Highly recommend.
Jabez Richardson2024-04-05Captain Marco made this a trip of a life time! We fished 2 days and hooked over 30 marlin, landed 20. We also caught some Dorado as well. My wife landed her first marlin ever which she still brags about quite regularly lol. The fishing at Mag bay is the best I have fou d in Mexico. I have fished all over Mexico for the last 24 years and this was by far the best fishing we have ever had. We stayed 4 nights at the hotel and the rooms were clean and the food was very good. They even took the time to male my wife a beautiful and tasty birthday cake. If you are looking for a once in a lifetime fishing trip, this is the one. We opted to use the Shuttle service they offer and I would highly recommend it. It makes it so easy and relaxing not having to drive your self. They also take great care of your catch. They fillet, vacuum pack and freeze it for you and do a great job.Thanks for everything Marco and hope to see you soon!
